Standing on the shoulders of the crypto and cypherpunks of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, Satoshi Nakamoto offered to the world a gift; a blockchain called Bitcoin. It is a digital ledger that serves as a store of value and a new form of money. This was the moment Web 3.0 was born. This was 2008. Fast forward to 2021 and the world that Satoshi Nakamoto launched has produced many more blockchains with each bringing new goods and services by the hundreds. Because of this… Today anyone can be their own bank thanks to Decentralized Finance. Today artists from all around the world are able to sell their art directly to buyers, and pass on ownership, because of smart contracts and Non-fungible Tokens (NFT or Nifty).
Today people are buying and selling property in the virtual realm of the Metaverse. Web 3.0 is the gold rush of the 21st century. The digital California and Klondike have yet to be settled, but their digital prospectors are showing up and beginning to give form to their byte-sized settlements. There is a world of opportunity out there and it’s not a zero-sum game. Each opportunity creates more opportunities. In an often volatile and uncertain world, the Metaverse offers many creative opportunities and a new, if not better, way of pursuing life.
