Fifty-two students accepted an Associate Degree of Applied Business in Advertising Art on June 3 at the Dayton Masonic Center. It was the final class to graduate from the School of Advertising Art (SAA). As of July 20, 2018, the college will transform into The Modern College of Design.

Students graduated with an essential combination of skills in graphic design, web design, video and motion design, photography, and illustration. They have also studied marketing and communications, and are well equipped and excited to begin their professional careers in the advertising industry.

Valedictorians were Alexis White, Sara Bertka, and Lindsey Schulze. Salutatorians were Emily Roberts and Damon Troncone. Other top graduates were Saber Davidson, Lauryn Davis, Emmi Gordon, Indy James, and Joelle Kaiser.

Jeremy Slagle, principal of Slagle Design, LLC, was recognized as the 2018 honorary degree recipient. Jeremy has been an advocate for SAA and through his support has had a positive impact on the school.

Founder of Farrell Management Group, Matt Farrell, was the 2018 commencement speaker. Matt’s professional experience spans several diverse industries; he also lends his expertise to SAA as a member of the school’s Program Advisory Committee.
