Kettering, Ohio – The School of Advertising Art (SAA) has committed to being a tobacco-free campus beginning in January of 2018. This policy stems from the college’s continued dedication to student health and wellness.

SAA’s campus expansion continues to remain on track with an expected opening in early 2018. The college has worked in conjunction with Heapy Engineering to ensure the 23,000-square-foot addition will be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified. This certification promotes campus sustainability.

Wright State University made a similar push earlier this year with a policy that designated their Dayton and Lake Campus spaces tobacco-free beginning July 1, 2017.

SAA is working with Montgomery County Public Health to provide support services for students and staff leading up to the implementation of this policy.

SAA President Jessica Barry commented, “The success and well-being of our students have always been SAA’s top priorities. We believe the tobacco-free campus policy will aid in our students’ overall level of health and preparedness in becoming the next generation of design professionals.”

The college’s decision to be LEED certified and tobacco-free is true to its vision of becoming the most respected design college in the Midwest.
