One step closer to offering our first bachelor’s degree!

The School of Advertising Art (SAA) was recently granted institutional authorization from the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE). ODHE also granted SAA approval to award their first bachelor’s degree. This approval allows the college to move forward with the process of adding a bachelor’s degree of design leadership to its portfolio of programs.

Currently, SAA offers a two-year associate degree of applied business in design. The college’s proposed bachelor’s degree completion program in design leadership will provide students with increased options for advancement in their professional careers.

SAA President Jessica Barry commented, “SAA is thrilled to have received ODHE’s institutional authorization and approval of our bachelor’s degree completion program. This is a huge step forward in the process of allowing SAA to offer a bachelor’s degree in design leadership to our students.”

This milestone is the first step in launching the new program. The college needs to also gain approval by its accrediting body, ACCSC (Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges), the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools, and the U.S. Department of Education before the program will be offered to students.
