Your career matters to our college. The Modern communicates with you regularly to provide job leads, offer advice, and evaluate interviews. This communication continues until you receive full-time employment in the design field. And when you’re looking to make a career change after your first, second, or fifth job, The Modern will continue to connect you with new opportunities.
We recognize the need for fun during a busy academic year. The Modern hosts many events for our students. In recent years events have included a Bowling Party, Fall Picnic, Halloween Party, Thanksgiving Lunch, and Winter Holiday Party. In addition, our students frequently create clubs that allow those with shared interests to meet, explore, and learn together.
Your academic journey comes with our professional support. The Modern’s library services will help you gather research, find inspiration, analyze current design trends, learn important design history, work collaboratively on projects, and access thousands of relevant resources.
We encourage and help facilitate your involvement in a variety of professional organizations as you develop your professional design skills. Through joining and engaging with these associations, you’ll experience opportunities for growth and gain valuable connections.
Have a voice in your college. The Modern student senate representatives from both Year One and Year Two are elected by the student body to serve our community. Student senate members meet regularly to discuss student concerns, plan student events, and implement ways for students to be involved in the school and the community.
The Modern is aware that life issues can impact your performance in college. We are committed to you as an individual, not just a professional. As a result of this care, we offer professional counseling sessions conducted by a licensed counselor at any time during your education, free of charge.
