The Modern made several announcements today concerning the use of the campus and resources, classwork extensions, summer semester, Reveal35 and Graduation, and externships. The Modern has decided it’s in the best interest of its students to make the following accommodations.

Classwork Extensions & Portfolio

The Modern has put in place project extensions for students through the remainder of the semester and has updated the process of completing the Portfolio Completion Course. Students will receive information via email and through Google Classroom on project extensions, important deadlines, and portfolio competition.

Summer Semester
‍
Courses for the summer semester will begin June 1, 2020, and will be offered online through the current distance education plan.
‍

Graduation & Reveal35
‍
The Modern has postponed Graduation and Reveal35 and will communicate more about rescheduling these events as soon as possible.

It’s important for students to understand that their graduation date is the end of their Externship, May 22. They will graduate on time but their celebration, the graduation ceremony, will be postponed.

Externships
‍
The Modern is excited to share the launch of remote externships for students. The remote externship will provide students with meaningful, professional work experience.
‍

Facility and Resources
‍
As soon as The Modern is able to reopen the campus, students will have the opportunity to use the facility and resources. Students will be able to print their assignments, including final portfolio books, use the photo/video studio and equipment, and use any other resources they were unable to access during the closure of campus.

The Modern appreciates the flexibility and resilience over the past few weeks students, faculty, and staff have shown and will provide additional updates soon.
