Modern Students and Alumni Recognized by National Design Magazine

Graphic Design USA Magazine named two students from The Modern College of Design, Josh Marruffo and Alexia Woodward, to the magazine's influential "Students to Watch" list for 2022. In addition, 2015 graduate, Rodney Crimes, was named to the magazine's exclusive "People to Watch" list.
GDUSA, a national graphic design publication, recognized the nation's top design talent in the February 2022 issue. Other students recognized on the list attend colleges such as Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), The New School, Parsons School of Design, and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

Josh Marruffo is a fourth-year student at The Modern College of Design. He is currently an intern focusing on user interface and user experience design (UI/UX) at Bonfire Red, a branding studio in Columbus, Ohio (bonfirered.com), through a cooperative learning experience at The Modern. Josh will graduate this June with a Bachelor of Arts in Design Leadership.

Alexia Woodward is a third-year student at The Modern studying design leadership. She serves as the Community Outreach Leader on the Student Senate and President of the Student Optimist Club. Last year, she served as the Plans Book Director for The Modern's 2021 AAF National Student Advertising Competition Team and is serving as Creative Director in 2022.

Rodney Crimes is a 2015 graduate of The Modern and serves as Senior Art Director for West Cary Group in Columbus, Ohio. Rodney works with agencies and corporations to solve problems across digital and print mediums. He has teamed up with start-ups to global brands, including IBM, Nationwide, Mattel, DSW, Abbott, Chase, and Capital One.

"I am thrilled that GDUSA Magazine recognized Josh, Alexia, and Rodney for their talent, success, leadership, and influence," shared Jessica Barry, president of The Modern. "This national recognition is well deserved and will help them expand their professional networks across the globe."
