The Modern College of Design proudly announces that Kim Swigart, a 2000 alum and founder of DezignHive, has been selected as the winner of the logo design contest for the 2025 NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s Spring Session, which will take place in Dayton, Ohio. Swigart’s design was chosen as the official emblem for this historic event, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Accords and will bring a global spotlight to the Dayton region and its rich creative community.
“The achievements of our alumni, like Kim Swigart, illustrate how a passion for design can lead to remarkable and impactful careers,” said President Jessica Barry. “We couldn’t be prouder of her achievement and the way she represents our community on a global level.”
The 2025 Spring Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly marks a significant occasion, as it will be the first time the U.S. has hosted the event since 2003. U.S. Representative Mike Turner, who leads the U.S. delegation to the Assembly, has worked for over two years to bring this prestigious gathering to Dayton. The Assembly, established in 1955, serves as a bridge between NATO and the parliaments of its 32 member nations, providing a forum for strengthening transatlantic relationships and addressing global challenges.
On October 31, Kim Swigart was formally recognized for her achievement at a ceremony hosted by the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, where representatives from The Modern College of Design attended to celebrate this honor. U.S. Representative Mike Turner, Dayton Area Chamber President and CEO Chris Kershner, and Dayton City Mayor Jeffrey J. Mims, Jr. were also in attendance, sharing remarks on the significance of Swigart’s accomplishment and the impact her design will have in representing Dayton on the global stage.
Swigart’s design will represent the Miami Valley and reflect the spirit of Dayton on a global stage, aligning with the Assembly’s mission to foster international cooperation and unity.
