Students and an Instructor Featured in Art Exhibition

Four students and an instructor from The Modern College of Design are featured in The Contemporary Dayton’s 30th Open Member’s Show, now on display at The Co’s art gallery in the Dayton Arcade.

The show includes the work of 112 local and Ohio-based artists. Featured student work includes photography from Richard Lee, Leah Creech, CJ Smith, and Chris DeRosa. Modern instructor Tess Cortés incorporated augmented reality into her featured work.

Students, faculty, staff, friends, and family joined a packed crowd of artists and art enthusiasts at the opening reception on February 2. During the awards ceremony, Richard Lee and Leah Creech received The Mike Goheen Memorial Award for Emerging Photographers.

“We are thrilled that The Contemporary Dayton featured the work of our students and instructor in this exhibition of extraordinary Ohio-based artists,” states The Modern College of Design President Jessica Barry. “Students gained confidence and expanded their professional network through this recognition.”

The show is open Wednesday to Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm through April 5, 2024.  For more details, visit www.codayton.org/open-members-show/
