The Modern College of Design Partners with Dayton Businesses for Holiday Design Competition
A group of Dayton businesses look more festive this holiday season thanks to collaborations with The Modern College of Design and the Downtown Dayton Partnership. Students, faculty, and staff from The Modern used their creative talents to bring holiday cheer to Dayton businesses through the Downtown Dayton Partnership’s Whimsical Windows decorating contest. Businesses were given the option to decorate their own storefronts or have The Modern adopt their windowfront. Adopted windows provided students and business owners with the chance to meet and discuss a holiday theme for their display. Students shared their creativity through drawing, painting, or crafting on each unique display. Led by Vice President of Student Affairs, Melissa Kulp, The Modern partnered with 8 companies to decorate their storefronts' windows for this annual contest that encourages families to support Downtown businesses during the holiday season.
You can participate in this creative holiday contest by casting your vote for the top display. Visit dayton.com/what-to-know/vote-now-which-dayton-business-has-the-best-whimsical-window to cast your vote. The business with the most votes will win a cash prize.
The competition runs through December 30, and voters are encouraged to use this interactive map downtowndayton.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/holidaymap3.jpg to experience the fantastic outdoor displays.
“Our students have an undeniable passion for supporting their community,” shared Jessica Barry, President of The Modern College of Design. “They love using their exceptional design skills to help others, and we are thrilled to partner with the Downtown Dayton Partnership and Dayton businesses again this holiday season.”
