The Modern College of Design, Seeking to Help Businesses and Organizations Achieve Their Goals, Expands Opportunities for Strategic Partnerships

Employers are strained looking for qualified and well-trained candidates. The Modern College of Design, Kettering, Ohio, looks to alleviate some of these challenges. Through relevant, focused, and meaningful education, The Modern prepares students to become valuable contributors to businesses and organizations. Graduates provide graphic design, web design, UX/UI, photography, and videography to businesses of all sizes looking to increase their marketing effectiveness. As social media, user experience, and communications requirements play even more important roles for organizations, Modern graduates fill these needs.

Rick Willits, Director of Career Services for The Modern, now also heads up Strategic Partnerships. This new role facilitates direct communication and coordination between employers and The Modern. Mutually beneficial partnerships can help small- and medium-sized businesses, creative services firms, and non-profit organizations. These partnerships ensure skills needed in the workplace are being taught to students while attending The Modern. Encouraging and developing students’ abilities to meet specific needs results in a better fit for employers and employees.

"With the expanding footprint of The Modern geographically, and the changing landscape of in-person and remote work,” says Willits, “we are looking forward to working with companies from all over Ohio, and the entire United States, to staff their design needs with our students and alumni."

The Modern is actively seeking forward-looking organizations with strategic plans and workforce development needs. Contact Rick Willits at rick.willits@themodern.edu to learn more.
