In late-May, The Modern College of Design began returning to campus, and visitors were invited back to campus on June 8.
“It has been wonderful to see our campus come back to life with prospective students and their families enjoying our colorful and creative campus,” shared President Jessica Barry.
As The Modern planned for the fall semester, they carefully considered several options that will ensure the safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and they are now committed to bringing students back to campus on August 24 for in-person classes.
To practice required social distancing during in-person classes, students will attend classes with no more than 10 students. Additional coursework will be offered through a new, more robust digital platform called Canvas. A hybrid combination of smaller class sizes and sophisticated digital technology will allow students to engage with instructors and immerse themselves in the curriculum in a safe and effective way.
The Modern will also offer fully-online classes for the first time this fall using Canvas. The instructors specially designed the online curriculum to be more flexible for students who choose this option.
Throughout the summer The Modern will continue to closely monitor the Ohio Health Department’s updates and update The Modern community as they roll out this plan.
The Modern looks forward to welcoming students back to campus soon!
