The Modern’s 2019 Scholarship Competition Winners Announced

[KETTERING, OH, 3/20/19] – This year, The Modern College of Design has granted $800,000 in tuition awards to incoming students. Over 70 students entered the college’s Design Program scholarship competition. A committee of Modern alumni, employed within the industry, reviewed the students’ submitted work and selected the final winners.

The 2019 competition winners are:

Daniel E. Johnson Award ($10,000)

• Hannah Peterson, Ohio, Delaware Area Career Center 

Portfolio Competition Award ($5,000)

• Valerie Baker, Ohio, Miami Valley Career Tech Center

• Seth Gamez, Oklahoma, Metro Tech Centers South Bryant

• Hannah Nibert, Ohio, West Carrollton High School/Miami Valley Career Tech Center

• Lillian Weber, Ohio, Buckeye Valley High School/Career Center 

"By offering diverse institutional awards, we strive to recognize achievement for talented incoming students,” shared Jessica Barry, president of The Modern. "We know that students are making an investment in their future, and institutional awards are a way we can help them reduce their tuition expenses and reward them for creating exceptional work.”
