Two Modern Students Named to GDUSA’s 2025 Students to Watch List

Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) Magazine has recognized Grace Gabriel and Ian Wiant from The Modern College of Design in its 2025 Students to Watch list, celebrating emerging talent in the design industry.

Grace, a bachelor’s student, discovered her passion for UI/UX design in high school. At The Modern, she serves as Student Senate President and Resident Assistant while gaining real-world experience as a UI/UX researcher at the University of Dayton Research Institute.

Ian, also a bachelor’s student, is a Dayton-based designer passionate about blending physical and digital media. Inspired by movies, music, and video games, he has launched a freelance career, building strong client relationships while refining his skills.

“Grace and Ian are both driven, talented, and committed their growth as designers,” shared Jessica Barry, president of The Modern. “Their selection for this honor highlights their hard work and the impact they’re already making in the design world.”

Their selection continues The Modern’s tradition of producing industry-ready designers recognized on a national stage.
