Crown Equipment Visits Campus for Ignite Series

Today, The Modern welcomed the team from Crown Equipment as part of our monthly IGNITE series feature for current students — a series of talks designed to give students a look into agencies and in-house creative departments and interact with the people who work there.

Headquartered in New Bremen, OH, Crown Equipment Corporation is a privately held, family-owned U.S. company and the fifth largest manufacturer of powered industrial forklift trucks in the world. Crown is at the cutting edge of interaction design and UX with $3.48 billion in worldwide sales revenue for the fiscal year 2018.

The Modern welcomed Ray Denison, Director of Interaction Design, Krista Gansert, Project Interaction Designer, and 2006 Modern Graduate, Lindsey Schulze, Interaction Designer, and 2018 Modern Graduate and current Design Leadership Program student, and Brian Case, one of Crown's Corporate Recruiters. They shared their insights on the importance of research in design thinking, their process of how interaction design affects the human experience with their products, and what their co-op opportunities look like throughout the company, including their marketing, interaction, and design departments.

Thanks for speaking to our students today, Crown!
