President Barry Ranks Among 50 Most Influential Women in Dayton

Over the past week, President Jessica Barry and The Modern College of Design received two distinctions from the Dayton Business Journal (DBJ) for women’s leadership in the Dayton region.

On Thursday, President Barry was honored by DBJ at a reception recognizing the 50 most influential women in the Dayton region. This is the first time Barry has received the honor including her within the prestigious group.

Additionally, the DBJ announced today that The Modern College of Design is an honoree for the Women-Owned Business of the Year award. As one of four honorees, The Modern will learn the final winner during a ceremony in November.

President Jessica Barry commented, “I am humbled to be included among such successful leaders from the Dayton community.” “As a first-generation college student, education and mentorship helped me learn the skills and seek the perspectives that led to my path as President. The Modern is a foundation for creative leaders; I know because I’m a graduate.”

The two-year design college is continuing to pursue a Bachelor’s degree completion program in design leadership. This program will provide students with increased options for advancement in their professional careers.
